GROUP CHAIRMAN, KARANJA KABAGE (MBA, LLM,MCIArb) ADVOCATE OF THE HIGH COURT OF KENYA

Mr. Kabage, is the Group Chairman of K&M Group of Companies namely, Kabage & Mwirigi Insurance Brokers Ltd (K&M), First Reinsurance Brokers Ltd (First Re), Kabage & Mwirigi Insurance Brokers (Tanzania) Ltd (K&M (T)). He holds a BSC and an MBA in Business Administration from the United States International University and Bachelor of Laws - LLB (Hons) and Master of Laws - LLM degrees from the University of Nairobi. He holds a Diploma from the Kenya School of Law and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He is also a member of the Law Society of Kenya, East African Law Society, International Bar Association (IBA) and Commonwealth Laws Association (CLA). Mr Kabage has been in the Insurance Industry for over thirty-five years and has held key positions in the industry Associations and related bodies in which he is still serving at various policy making levels. Mr. Kabage was a chairman of AIBK for an unprecedented four (4) years. In his LLM-degree he specialized in International Trade and Investment with special emphasis on International Commercial Arbitration and International Maritime Law. He is a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCI Arb.)

MANAGING DIRECTOR, JACINTA W. KARITA (BCOM,FCII)

Mrs Karita is the Group Managing Director of K&M and the Managing Director of FIRST RE. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Daystar University and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London (FCII). She has the rare distinction of being the first lady in Kenya to earn Fellowship Diploma in Reinsurance by qualification. She is responsible for the day to day running of the Reinsurance Broking in both Life and Non-Life portfolios. She has been with FIRST RE for the past 13 years during which she has held various technical positions in the company handling both direct and reinsurance broking. Overall, Mrs. Karita has been in the insurance industry for more than 23 years.

DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER, DANIEL SINDIGA (BA,ACII)

Mr Sindiga is the Deputy General Manager of our reinsurance broking subsidiary, First Reinsurance Brokers Ltd. He is responsible for all aspects of Life Reinsurance; Treaties and Facultative covers of FIRSTRE’s clients. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (BA) degree from the University of Nairobi and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII). He is one of the leading life re-assurance underwriters in Kenya and has been in the insurance industry for over 21 years.

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER, LUCY NGUGI (BSC,ACII)

Mrs Ngugi is the Manager in charge of Operations in First Reinsurance Brokering Ltd. She is responsible for all aspects of Non-Life Reinsurance underwriting; Treaties and Facultative covers of FIRSTRE’s clients. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Business Administration) degree from the United States International University and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII). She has been in the insurance industry for over 21 years.

MANAGER CLAIMS, FRANCIS GAKUI (BCOM)

Mr. Gakui is the Manager in charge of Claims management in First Reinsurance Brokering Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Insurance Option) degree from the University of Nairobi. He has been in the insurance industry for over 16 years.

DEPUTY MANAGER OPERATIONS, JECKONIA MAGANDA (BCOM)

Mr Maganda is the Deputy Manager Operations in First Reinsurance Brokering Ltd. He is responsible for all aspects of Non-Life Reinsurance underwriting; Treaties and Facultative covers of a section of FIRSTRE’s clients. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Insurance Option) degree from the University of Nairobi and has advanced in his pursuit of the Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII). He has been in the insurance industry for over 16 years.

ASSISTANT MANAGER OPERATIONS, ENG. MARTHA MAINA(BSC. ENG.)

Mrs. Maina is the Assistant Manager Operations in First Reinsurance Brokering Ltd. She is responsible for all aspects of Non-Life Reinsurance underwriting; Treaties and Facultative covers of a section of FIRSTRE’s clients. She is a Bachelor of Science graduate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing of the Associate of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (AIIK). She has over 13 years experience in Building and Engineering utility services. Additionally, she has a good grounding in the marketing, training and managerial fields. She has been with FIRST RE for over 6 years during which she gained tremendous experience in reinsurance broking.

CLAIMS OFFICER , LUCY NGANGA (BCOM)

Mrs. Nganga is the Claims Officer in First Reinsurance Brokering Ltd. She assists the Claims Manager in all aspects of claim management and recovery. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Option) degree from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing a diploma of the Associate of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (AIIK). She has been with us for the past 2 and half years during which she gained tremendous experience in claims management.

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER, KENNETH K NJORA (CPA (K), ACCA, CIMA)

Mr. Njora is the Financial Controller for the K&M Group of Companies. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPAK) and an Associate of the Association of the Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA - UK). He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). He has vast experience in the fields of Audit and Accountancy gained over a period of 8 years. He is responsible for the finance and accounting functions of the Group of companies.

SYSTEMS AND PROGRAMME ANALYST, PIUS SIGEI (BSC) (HONS)

Mr Sigei, is the Systems and Programme Analyst, Information Technology Division. He is a holder of Bachelor of Science (Computer Science and Applied Statistics) (Hons) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He is holds an ACCPAC Certification (Certificate in ACCPAC professional course). Mr Sigei has over six years of extensive experience in software support and development as well as system administration. He is responsible for the development of all IT systems for both K&M Insurance Brokers Limited and First Reinsurance Brokers Limited, our Subsidiary company.

JEDIDAH M KURIA, HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES (M.BA, B.A)

Mrs. Kuria is the Head of Human Resources and Development. She holds a Master of Business Administration (Human Resources Management) and a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) degree from Daystar University. She has been in the insurance industry for over 23 years and has extensive experience in administration and human resource management. She is in charge of the Administration Division which is responsible for the administration and human resource functions of both K&M and FirstRe.
