Brief
History
First
Reinsurance brokers limited was incorporated on April 21st
1993, and licenced to transact all types of reinsurance
broking on November 1st, 1993. It is the the first reinsurance
broking firm registered in Kenya.
It
is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kabage & Mwirigi Insurance
Brokers Ltd. The company has the distinct advantage of being
owned and managed by professionals with a wealth of expertise
in Reinsurance and Insurance broking on local, continental
and global basis.
Corprate
purpose and scope of business
First
Reinsurance Brokers Ltd (FirstRe) is a professional reinsurance
broking company. We're an intermediary between insurance
companies and reinsurance companies.
The
scope of our business includes treaty and facultative reinsurance
broking, risk and capacity consultancy, portfolio administration,
portfolio management and coordination of reinsurance coverage,
both domestically and in other markets.
Our
arms are spread locally and abroad and as such can accept
and/or place reinsurance business in any part of the world.
Our target are portfolios from Africa.
To
do the above, we develop and deploy IT systems that enhance
client service and internal productivity. For excellence,
we continuously pursue higher quality in all areas of our
operations.
